George joins Ham Nation Podcast
George will be joining Bob Heil (K9EID) and Gordon West (WB6NOA) every Tuesday night at 8pm central on the new Ham Nation podcast. He’ll be doing the ‘Solder and Smoke’ segment aimed at getting new people to join the hobby through building simple projects. It’s going to be a blast (and a lot of work too). Bob and Gordon are doing a great job of expanding our Ham community and George is honored to join them. Watch each Tuesday night at 8pm central or download the podcast from twit.tv or iTunes a day or so later.

Welcome to the first AmateurLogic.TV Field Day Extravaganza. We’ve shown you what Field Day is before by visiting the Jackson Amateur Radio Club’s events. This year we decided to go it alone. The crew (along with a few friends) set off for the woods to get completely off the grid. Jim also wanted to do some astronomy photography and this location offered lower light pollution.
Join us as we setup, operate, and campout to learn what worked and what didn’t. You’re bound to enjoy this AmateurLogic take on Field Day.

AmateurLogic.TV Field Day Expedition
Providing the weather holds out (and it looks like it will), the AmateurLogic crew will be setting up and running our own Field Day stations this weekend from a rural location. We will be 100% off the grid and in the wilderness.

1st Episode of Bob Heil’s Ham Nation
Olde Towne Middle School Balloon Launch
The Olde Towne Middle School Radio and Technology Club from Ridgeland, MS is proud to be launching what is most likely the state’s first near-space balloon from a non-college school! The launch status is GO for right now and the weather is looking breezy but good. The students rigged up a practice payload chain today and everything was tested and is working great! We want reception reports from both HF and VHF modes. We are going to plot all reception reports so the students can see where the signals were in relation to our location.
The AmateurLogic.TV crew plan on attending and taping the event.
